Clean Up

City of Mendota received a $1.3 million EPA Brownfield grant to remediate space of 800 block on Main St. and Illinois Ave. The old Auto Part store will be torn down along with the Laundromat building to the right of the building. The grant will then cover the remediation of the ground underneath these buildings.

Fundraising

Reimagine Mendota will focus efforts to fundraise for the Pavilion space during the clean-up phase. Thank you to Black Brothers Inc. who has provided a $100,000 dollar-for-dollar match donation. With this dollar-for-dollar match, every dollar earned will be doubled. Our Phase 1 goal is to raise the full $100,000 to match the donation, giving us $200,000 at the end of Phase 1. 

Planning

Reimagine Mendota will collect pictures and ideas from residents about their desired design and amenities. The group will then work with the city and contracted architect to fully design the space. This will, in turn, assist with fundraising and establishing the full amount of money needed for what is designed for the Pavilion/Community space.
